A senior hire, without the full-time cost
I work inside your business for a fixed period, fix the problems that are costing you time, then hand everything over.
What is a fractional hire?
Most businesses know they need to modernise how they operate. The challenge is finding someone who can do it.
Hiring full-time is expensive and slow. Freelancers need managing. And project-based work often ends with a handover document nobody reads.
A fractional hire is different. I join your business part-time, typically two to three days a week, for six to ten weeks. I work alongside your team, not from a separate office. I find the manual processes costing you hours every week, build the systems that fix them, and train your team to run everything after I leave.
It is called fractional because you get senior-level expertise at a fraction of the cost and commitment of a full-time employee.
Why it works
Cheaper than hiring
A full-time automation or AI specialist costs £55,000 to £75,000 a year before employer NI, pension, and equipment. A fractional engagement costs a fraction of that and delivers working solutions in weeks, not months.
Your team learns, not just your systems
Everything I build gets handed over with training and documentation. When I leave, the capability stays. This is a technology transfer, not a dependency.
Results from week one
The first week delivers a quick win. Something visible that proves the approach. Compare that to hiring: four weeks to recruit, four weeks notice period, four weeks onboarding. I am delivering results before a new hire has started.
No long-term risk
If it is not working after week one, the contract ends. No notice period, no HR process, no recruitment fees wasted.
Breadth you cannot hire for
A single employee is usually strong at one thing. I bring automation, AI tools, workflow design, content systems, data pipelines, and process thinking. That range is what makes a short engagement so productive.
From first call to handover
Discovery call
Free. 30 minutes. We talk through your operations and figure out if there is a fit. If I cannot help, I will say so.
Discovery day
I spend a day with your team. I talk to the people who do the work, map the processes, spot the bottlenecks, and identify where the time is going. You get a written report with prioritised recommendations. This is yours to keep regardless of whether we continue.
Proposal
Within 48 hours. Three builds ranked by impact. Each one has what it does, what it saves, and what is needed from your team. A clear plan for the engagement period.
Build
Two to three days a week, six to ten weeks. The first week delivers a visible quick win. Main builds follow. Midpoint review at the halfway mark to adjust if priorities have shifted.
Handover
Training, documentation, and support. Your team runs the systems. If you want ongoing help, we move to a lighter support arrangement.
What I typically fix
This is not a list of services. These are the problems that come up in almost every business I work with.
Enquiries that take too long to answer
A customer fills in a form. Nobody responds for hours or days. By then, they have spoken to a competitor. I build systems that respond in seconds, qualify the lead, and route it to the right person.
Information that gets typed twice
Data goes from an email into a spreadsheet, then into another system, then into an invoice. Each step is manual. I connect the systems so data moves once and ends up where it needs to be.
Follow-up that does not happen
Leads go cold because nobody chased them. Past customers sit in a database doing nothing. I build sequences that keep the conversation going automatically.
Knowledge stuck in people's heads
When a team member is away, nobody knows the process. I build searchable knowledge bases so the answers are always available.
Reports compiled by hand
Someone spends hours every week pulling numbers into a spreadsheet. I automate it so the data arrives where the team already looks.
Marketing that never gets done
Business owners know they should be posting and emailing. It never happens because operations fill the day. I build content pipelines that do the heavy lifting.
Leads that arrive and disappear
The business spends money on ads or SEO but does not have a system to capture, qualify, and follow up with the people who respond. I build that system.
What it costs
Day rate: £500. Minimum engagement: £4,000 per month. Typical engagement: £6,000 to £7,500 per month at three days a week.
The discovery day is £500, credited against the engagement if you proceed.
Software subscriptions and tool costs sit with the business, not with me. I recommend the most cost-effective options and set everything up. Typical ongoing tool costs are £50 to £200 per month.
